We are glad to have worked with the Rob & Joy Aumann team. They took care of hiring professional inspection, mitigation, painting, and staging of the condo immediately right after the tenant left. Rob had been very accessible and immediately answered emails and texts within minutes. We accepted an offer in 15 days and closed 32 days after it was listed. We were searching for a realtor in the PB area of San Diego. We’re based in Northern California so it wasn’t easy for us to get out to the SoCal area to look at prospective properties. After a quick search online, we found Rob and Joy at Luxury SoCal Realty in La Jolla. Rob and team quickly found several properties in the area within our budgeted price range. They made the whole process easy, smooth, and painless. Rob visited several properties that we were interested in and did a live video tour giving us his insights on each property we considered. Once we chose the property, Rob quickly put an offer together below asking based on what he believed the market dictated. After a bit of negotiation, our offer was accepted below their initial asking price. We bought our unit sight unseen. During the closing process, we had a chance to visit the property. Rob had an interior decorator and contractor ready at our unit to discuss our remodel plans. His network of connections are vast and we were happy to leverage it. Post sales, Rob continues to support our remodeling efforts making himself available to provide the keys and access to our unit when needed as well as follow up with our contractors.

If I could give Lenna 10 stars, or 100 stars I would. She helped us get a rental property ready for sale after my father's passing. Her advice and expertise landed us a great price, far above what we expected. The property had a lot of deferred maintenance, and she helped us make decisions on what should be fixed/updated and what was best left alone. She was also very active in decision making for the work we were doing. She provided excellent referrals for people to help us with work on the property, as we managed the work ourselves. When a glitch happened with our first offer - completely out of Lenna's control - she dealt with it quickly and efficiently. We thought that losing the first offer might have an effect on the price we received, but due to her hard work, we were still able to receive a very good price on the sale! MOST importantly, she helped us manage differences of opinion among the co-trustees with grace and a positive attitude. She did not take sides and was able to find the best qualities in everyone, and helped us in working together. Lenna's calm, kind, yet "get-it-done" personality is EXACTLY what you want in your realtor! HIRE HER!!

I received a card in the mail for Rob & Joy saying they were Real Estate Agents and if I was interested in selling a property they could do it. I called Rob and spoke with him at the time I was unable to meet him to show the property so my son met with him. After that he phoned me and we talked about the property and what he could do to help us sell it. We cannot say enough about the incredible dynamic duo of Joy Bender and Rob Aumann at LuxurySoCalRealty. We first began working with Joy and Rob in 2017 when they represented us on buying a condo in La Jolla. Because of their tenacity, we had almost no negotiation and bought the full oceanview, three-bedroom condo with a large deck for an incredibly reasonable price. You know you have a great real estate agent when the seller's agent (a well-known La Jolla name in real estate) takes the time to pull you aside and tell you that your agent is fantastic. Yes, that happened. Fast forward to 2021. We have three big boys and needed a little more space and were ready to commit to an actual home. The challenge to this is that we were living full-time in Austin. As places came on the market, Joy and Rob would rush over to FaceTime a tour for us. When we had questions later, they would be FaceTiming us from the property again in under an hour, even when we were texting at 7am. Soon, we found the place. What an experience working with Rob and Joy! We’d been stalking the higher end of the La Jolla real estate market for about a year, so we had a decent idea of what we were looking for. Still - we were buying into a very competitive market. Yet these two consistently got us into pocket listings, dutifully accompanied us to the many “probably not but we should look anyway” showings, and gave us expert guidance on the unique drivers - and detractors - of value on the luxury homes we were seeing. Not once did they try to push us or make us feel uncomfortable. Not once did we feel like it was a transactional relationship with them - entirely the opposite: we felt like they cared for our home purchase as they would for their best friends. When we did land on our eventual purchase, it was the day it hit the market. We were one of multiple offers, but with Rob and Joy’s guidance, ours was the winner. But that was just the start - thanks to their process and their network of vendors, we were able to negotiate a price discount. They were also instrumental in managing the relationship between the mortgage broker and seller’s agent - the process took quite a bit longer than expected because of our complicated financial/business structure, and we are 100% certain that the seller’s agent would have pushed the seller to walk away too soon, without Rob and Joy’s efforts on our behalf. All’s well that ends well, though, and everyone was thrilled the day the deal closed. We can’t imagine a better San Diego realtor. Your negotiating skills are spectacular, particularly with the unusual way in which we structured the purchase contract. Your people skills allowed us to work with the listing agent at Dolphin Place and ultimately convince the sellers to accept our terms of an extended settlement which allowed us time to sell and settle Westbourne. With regard to the sale of Westbourne, your marketing skills were literally the most impressive I have ever seen. Not only did you arrange for various contractors to come into Westbourne over a 48 hour period to get the home into mint show condition, but you also brought in one of the top videographers to put together a stunningly beautiful photographic representation of the home on the internet listing. The photographer also put together a sixty photo slide show that created total buzz and excitement for the home that brought us a first day contract for $90K over the listing price as well as over 100 people at the open house the following day. When the first contract fell out of escrow for a financing technicality that the buyers(who were pre-qualified)had no control over, you very quickly produced a full cash buyer that was willing to close in five days with no contingencies whatsoever. You also kept the buyers believing that the property was “hot” and would sell quickly if they faltered in any way. There is no doubt in my mind that you are both going to be the top producers in California in the future. Your dogged persistence, superb people skills and phenomenal work ethic insure a very successful future for both of you. I will refer you to as many individuals as possible. Buying a house in December with a daunting deadline is not easy. In buying our house, we had a unique situation. My husband had already started a new job and our (for-sale) home was already in escrow. The clock was ticking and I was envisioning our children living out of suitcases for the foreseeable future. The first time I called Anne, I said, "I'm coming to San Diego for 2 days next week to buy a house!" We both knew I meant it and I think even she was surprised. I was terrified and my husband was skeptical. After all, how would we know we were in the "right" neighborhood? How could we be sure we were getting a good deal with such a tight timeline in a real estate about which we knew essentially nothing? How would we know whether his commute was going to allow us more family time together, which was nearly the ENTIRE reason for this long-distance move. Anne Virjee was great! With children, you may know that arranging for both parents to leave for a few days is tricky business, especially when one parent has already started a new job out of town. The coordination was not quite to the level of storming the beach at Normandy, but it was a lot of work for me to get to San Diego to spend 2 days with Anne and my husband house hunting. Anne and I agreed on a home list in advance, which she vetted with key details like school ratings and school/work proximity. In 2 days, Anne and I (and my husband when he could breakaway from drinking from the firehouse at his new job) looked at 18 houses. Yup - 18. The process was really one of eliminating houses. We saw some beautiful properties but were surprised at how long some had been on the market. Then we discovered their sad shared attribute...CLOSE proximity to a very busy street. ROAD NOISE. Not ideal for little kids (danger?). Ugh. At the end of day one, we found our house...a surprise because it wasn't even on our original list. We spent the 2nd day confirming there were no other alternatives (there weren't). By the time I got on the plane to fly back, we had submitted the offer that would get us our home. The negotiation with the sellers wasn't entirely simple. The other agent liked to speak and write in code (using acronyms rather than real words in contract documents), which cost us some time in encryption. The mortgage industry had just undergone a rules change, which now requires mandatory 3-biz day waiting periods for any contract changes (think credits, etc.). Icing on the cake? Our contract period was lousy with holidays. First, we got into contract on December 19. With the customary 17 day inspection window, Anne had to schedule inspectors while managing the holidays and the end-of-year relaxed schedule many professionals expect. Initial inspections done, onto the appraisal. Whoops - now it's MLK Day. Yikes- more delays! Long story shorter, Anne Virjee did an excellent job of advising us and soothing our worries during this very stressful set of transactions. We are now the very proud owners of a lovely home. Our children are settling into a fabulous school, where we've been welcomed like family into the school community. And my husband gets home from work within 20-23 minutes. We couldn't be happier with how it worked out and we're grateful to Anne for helping us. She was professional, prompt, smooth and extremely knowledgeable. To our surprise, she could nearly tell us when potholes in the street were due to be repaired (OK - I may have stretched on that one but her knowledge is impressive). Experience and integrity mean a lot and she has both in spades.

I flew in to San Diego from Austrilia seeking investment properties for long term rentals. Joy and Rob picked me up at the airport. They first gave me a tour of Mission Beach, Mission Bay, Pacific Beach, and Birdrock area of La Jolla there suggested beach communities based on my budget for two bedroom condo units. We relocated from Michigan with very little time to do a home search. We were unfamiliar with the San Diego area and California in general.
